Things You Should Avoid Doing When At A Hawaiian Wedding

Hawaii is one of the most popular destination wedding location which means that at some point of time you surely will be getting an invite to join one. Or, better yet, you might as well be planning for a wedding in Hawaii. We’d have to say that you have made an excellent decision and won’t regret your choice. But, you see? Hawaiian weddings are a little different from other ones and so is a Hawaii vacation. There are certain things you ought to follow and some things to avoid. So here we are listing some helpful Hawaii wedding tips for you to save you from last-minute chaos and confusions.

1) Don’t book yourself a hotel just because it comes with a beach view.

It should have been common knowledge by now that every beach on the island is a public beach which means that everyone has access to them. So, while you are making the accommodation bookings, don’t pay extra for the beach view because it is a common access. But yes, you can definitely way your options in beach choices while booking your stay.

2) Avoid staying out in the sun for too long on the day of arrival

We get it. It’s Hawaii and you are happy! You are here for a wedding and that adds to the fun. But seriously, you need to keep away from the sun on the first day because your body needs to adjust with the change in atmosphere. Surely wouldn’t want to fall sick before the big day now, would we? So be cautious and don’t get carried away with your wedding destination. Take some time.

3) Don’t save up on using sunscreen

Hawaii gets hot, and yes it’s very sunny. So if you think that the usual amount of sunscreen will do then please think again! Use a sunscreen with a high SPF and make sure that you don’t get too tanned before the function. Especially, if you are the couple or from the couple’s family then you might want to plan the visiting and exploring part of the trip to after the wedding.

4) Do not just carry regular footwear. Carry flip flops too!

They come very handy. You wouldn’t believe how difficult it is to walk with your regular shoes on the beach, let alone the fancy ones. Certain Hawaiian wedding packages also provide shoe racks for people to keep their footwear at and exchange them with flip flops if the wedding location is on the beach. That is very thoughtful and very helpful. So try to make things as easy and comfortable as you can because it’ll be needed.

5) Don’t start with the Hawaiian food fiesta as soon as you arrive

We know that the Hawaii goodies are too good to resist but honestly, you’d want to take it slow. Your body along with your stomach will take some time to adjust. You can start with light seafood, some local drinks, and save the good stuff for your big day. You can talk to your hotel about the same and they can help you ease into the Hawaiian way of eating and living. So this makes for a very important point that shouldn’t be ignored.

Just keep everything balanced from eating, clothing, to roaming around. Overexcitement in any way can cost your health and pocket as well, so take it slow and enjoy with a flow. Now that you have a list of what you shouldn’t, we like to advise you to mingle with the local culture and have fun!
